Kitchen Margin support

Let’s get you
back to the kitchen.

Start with the guidance below, or send a general question to the developer.

01 / Capture

Review the source before saving.

Some text or amounts were read incorrectly

Open the source photo in the review screen and compare the document date, amounts, pack quantities, and units. Correct uncertain fields before confirming them.

If the source is hard to read, retake it in even light, with the full page visible and the camera square to the paper. Avoid glare, folds, and shadows. Handwriting and damaged print may require manual entry.

OCR results are suggestions. Recognition does not confirm that a price, sales figure, ingredient, or allergen is correct.

The document was recognized as the wrong type

Check the document type shown in review before saving. Use the offered type correction when available. If the correct review cannot be reached, keep the source and begin a new capture with the appropriate document type selected.

Do not confirm ingredient rows from a sales report. If incorrect data has already been saved, inspect the affected ingredient or sales record before making further changes. A support report can describe the labels that were confused without including real financial figures.

Camera or photo access is unavailable

Check Kitchen Margin’s camera permission in your device’s Settings. You can also choose a document image from the photo picker. Kitchen Margin processes the selected image on your device.

02 / Costs & allergens

Start with complete ingredients.

A recipe cost or suggested price is missing

Open the recipe’s ingredient or preparation details. Check the pack price, pack quantity and unit, usable yield, recipe quantity, and output yield. Missing components or incompatible units can prevent a complete cost.

Example prices must be checked against your actual supplier prices. The suggested selling price uses your target food-cost percentage; it does not include every operating expense.

An allergen is unknown or unreviewed

Review the ingredient against current supplier information and mark it reviewed only after checking. Preparations inherit their component ingredients, so check those too.

The matrix records your entered information and notes. It cannot verify supplier changes, handling practices, or cross-contact in your kitchen. Use the full composition and notes when responding to a guest’s question.

03 / Backups & your records

Keep a complete copy somewhere safe.

How do I back up or move my kitchen?
  1. Open Settings → Export complete backup.
  2. Save the file somewhere outside this device that you control, using the share sheet.
  3. On the destination device, use Settings → Restore complete backup and review the replacement confirmation.

A complete backup includes the kitchen library, histories, source photos, archived documents, recipe revisions, and settings. A CSV export is for spreadsheet interchange and is not a complete backup.

Restoring replaces the current kitchen after preserving a recovery copy on that device. Export a fresh complete backup before replacing data or loading the demo restaurant.

What happens if I delete the app or replace my device?

Deleting the app removes its local data. Keep an exported backup before deleting or moving the app. Apple device backups may include app data depending on your settings, but Kitchen Margin does not provide its own cloud backup or automatic sync.

The developer does not have a copy of your kitchen to restore. Keep exported files private: they may contain sensitive business information and source photos.

The app reports a storage or recovery error

Keep the app and its data on the device. Follow the recovery message in Settings and use the available export action to preserve the original data files or a complete backup. Do not load the demo restaurant to resolve a storage issue.

Email the general error wording, app version, and iOS version to support. Do not post the backup or original data files publicly.

04 / Apple subscriptions

Manage Capture access with Apple.

What does the monthly subscription include?

Kitchen Margin Capture is an optional monthly auto-renewing subscription for new invoice, sales report, and recipe scans. Text recognition supports English and Korean on your device. The purchase screen shows the current localized price and any eligible trial before you confirm payment with Apple.

Manual ingredient and recipe costing, price and margin investigation, dated records, saved documents and reviews, the allergen matrix, and complete backup exports remain available without a subscription. Cancelling does not delete your kitchen records or provide cloud sync.

How do I restore access or cancel?

In Kitchen Margin, open Settings → Kitchen Margin Capture → Restore purchases, using the Apple Account that purchased the subscription.

Use Manage subscription in the app or Apple’s subscription settings to manage renewal. You can also follow Apple’s cancellation instructions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

I need help with a charge or refund

Apple processes subscriptions, payments, and refund requests. Visit Apple’s Report a Problem page. Do not post transaction receipts or payment details in a public support issue.

Subscriptions and app use are subject to Apple’s standard End User License Agreement.

I am using a restaurant pilot build

A build explicitly labelled “Restaurant pilot” includes Capture access without payment. It does not start a trial, create a subscription, or charge you later.

Still need help?

Include your app version from Settings → About, device model, iOS version, and steps to reproduce the issue. Use fictional data and no attachments containing private information.
